What's the Difference Between a Powertrain and Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty?

Every new vehicle we sell here at Davis Hyundai comes with a powertrain warranty and a bumper-to-bumper warranty. Before you sit down with one of our sales associates, it will be helpful to know which is which and what each type of warranty covers.

A powertrain warranty covers those parts of your vehicle that actually make it run. These are the engine itself, transmission and the differential. It also covers components that bring power to the wheels such as the driveshaft and constant velocity joints. Items that wear out, like the battery, belts, and fluids are not covered.

Also called a comprehensive warranty, the bumper-to-bumper warranty many other operating parts of your vehicle. Among the systems included are the air conditioning system, some parts of the suspension, electronics such as power windows and seats, audio components and more. Refer to the documentation on each to see specific coverage and exclusions.
